LeRoy S. "Son" Cook Jr.

LeRoy S. "Son" Cook Jr., 88, died Monday, March 5, 2011 at Candler Hospital. He was born in Savannah, son of LeRoy and Ruth Cook. Mr. Cook, a Purple Heart Recipient served with the United States Army Reserves-Hoosiers during World War II in Germany and New Guinea. He was retired after 32 years with Dowling Bag Company and a member of Central Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Cook, second wife, Martha Pinholster Cook, sister, Eloise Bruson and niece, Ann Grizzard.

Surviving are daughter, Kandy Toomey of Savannah; sons, Tony Adams Tessie of Savannah; Ricky Adams Suzanne of Port Wentworth; Tom Adams Sherry of Rincon; sister, Eleanor Dewberry of Savannah; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews and his beloved dog, Molly.

Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2012 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors conducted by Reverend Thomas Blackston. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Brian Adams, Chris Adams, Zach Adams, Sandy Dewberry, Justin Eubanks and Matt Volk.

Burial: Hillcrest Abbey West.
